In order to carry out the "Safety Production Month" activities in depth and earnestly grasp 

safety supervision,the Linxiang Maritime Affairs Department of Yueyang Maritime Safety 

Administration jointly cooperated with Jianli City local port and shipping department of Jianli 

City, and organized the Jinao Wharf in its jurisdiction and the Yueyang Office of Nanjing 

Oil Transportation Co., Ltd. to jointly carry out water firefighting and oil spill emergency 

drills.

The drill was included several subjects such as emergency stop of oil spill operations, 

rescue of injured personnel, oil spill containment by using oil booms, and oil spill 

cleanup by using oil absorbent pads and oil spill dispersants. The drill was simulated 

the occurrence of oil leakage during the loading and unloading process of the wharf, 

and the wharf immediately activated the emergency plan and carried out fire fighting 

operations, and at the same time reported to the maritime department. After receiving 

the police, the law enforcement officers of the Linxiang Maritime Department took the 

"Marine Patrol 12250"ship to the oil spill site as soon as possible to guard and maintain 

order. At the same time, they contacted and dispatched the tugboat "Yangtze River 62***" 

affiliated to Nanjing Oil Transportation Co., Ltd. to guide the implementation of fire fighting 

and the cleanup work, until the end of the drill, all exercise subjects have achieved the 

expected results.

This joint drill was effectively tested the operational effects of the terminal's emergency plan 

operations, emergency team building and emergency material storage, and further promoted 

the coordinated command and cooperation level of maritime affairs, port and shipping, docks, 

emergency rescue forces and other parties.
