On June 25, Cangzhou City Maritime Search and Rescue Center organized relevant member units
to hold a comprehensive fire fighting and oil spill emergency drill at Huanghua Port. The drill was
simulated the damage of the main cap pipelines at the Liquefaction Wharf, caused crude oil to
leak and catched fire. Part of the crude oil was sprayed into the sea from the pipelines.
After receiving the report, the Cangzhou Maritime Search and Rescue Center immediately
activated an emergency response plan and quickly organized emergency forces to carry
out rescue operations. They contacted the ship to stop the pump, carried out the initial
fire fighting and reported to the fire and environmental protection department. The
tugboat was arranged to prepare the tanker to leave the berth, and carried out fire
fighting and oil spill collection preparations, then the oil booms ships immediately
rushed to the scene to carry out oil pollution interception and recovery treatment.
Through this comprehensive emergency drill, the effectiveness and operability of
the emergency plan were further tested, and the rapid response capabilities,
emergency response capabilities, and collaborative organization capabilities of
search and rescue member units for emergencies were improved. All emergency
actions were rapid, scientific, orderly, and effective, and the drill was achieved
a complete success.
Cangzhou Maritime Safety Administration, National Energy Huanghua Port Co.,
Ltd.and Huanghua City Armed Forces participated in the drill. The drill was
dispatched 4 tugboats, 1 marine cruiser, and 50 participants. The drill was
lasted about one and a half hours.
