Recently, the second-phase channel of the Cameroon Kribi Deepwater Port, which was constructed 

by China Harbour, a subsidiary of CCCC, was officially put into use.

The second phase of the Kribi Deepwater Port in Cameroon was officially started on December 25, 

2019. The contract period is 42 months. The main construction content includes new container 

berths, port channel dredging by using dredging ships(with silt curtains), breakwater extension, 

new storage yard, etc. The channel put into use this time has a total length of 1,015 meters, 

a width of 200 meters, and a design depth of 15 meters. The project team overcame difficulties 

such as the impact of the epidemic and restricted access to personnel and equipment, and 

successfully completed the dredging task of the port channel for the second phase of the 

project. On April 28, 2021, an internationally certified third-party organization passed

the inspection and met the navigation standards of the waterway.

After the completion of the second phase of the project, the Kribi Deepwater Port will become 

a large-scale container transshipment port and a comprehensive hub port in Cameroon and

even Central and West Africa, which will greatly promote the development of Cameroon's 

logistics and commerce and inject new vitality into regional economic development.
