Yesterday morning, the first government-funded tugboat "Taihai Jiu 01" for emergency aid
and pollution cleaning, was officially commissioned in Taizhou Port. This is also the dual-purpose tugboat with the most complete equipment and the largest tonnage in Taizhou
waters, it will greatly enhance Taizhou's marine search and rescue and ship oil spill
emergency response capabilities.
Taizhou's maritime navigation environment is complex, fishery production operations are
busy, shipping and vessel traffic is intensive, marine accidents are prone to danger, and
the amount of emergency rescue assistance at sea is relatively weak. The Taizhou
Municipal People's Government adheres to the concept of "people first, life first" and
invested 50 million yuan in the construction of a dual-purpose tugboat "Taihai Jiu 01"
for emergency aid and pollution cleaning.
According to reports, "Taihai Jiu 01" tugboat has a total length of 45 meters, a profile
width of 12.6 meters, a profile depth of 5.5 meters, a full-load draft of 4.5 meters, a
main engine power of 3840 kilowatts, a design speed of 13 knots, a positive drag
force greater than 60 tons, and a wind resistance rating of nine to ten level. The
tugboat is equipped with oil skimmers, oil dispersant spraying arm, oil booms, oil
spill recovery tank and other oil spill removal and recovery devices, and the oil spill
recovery capacity is 150 cubic meters per hour. At the same time, two fire-fighting
water monitors (with a range of 150 meters) were installed.
After the “Taihai Jiu 01” tubboat series is commissioned, it will entrust the professional
organization Ningbo Yonggang Tug Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Ningbo Zhoushan Port,
to be responsible for daily operations and maintenance management, and accept
emergency response dispatch from the Taizhou Maritime Search and Rescue Center.
It is mainly responsible for marine emergency disposal, life search and rescue, marine
anti-pollution emergency and other important tasks. It is used for emergency operations
such as rescue towing, oil spill recovery, oil spill elimination, fire fighting, search and
rescue of human lives, and port towing under daily and severe sea conditions in
Taizhou port and nearby coastal waters, which can meet the requirements of
offshore towing operations.
