As one of the important tributary channels of the inland waterway in Shandong Province, the Beijing-Hangzhou 

Canal Daqing River Channel Project has recently started construction. After navigating, 1,000-ton ships can enter 

Dongping Lake from the Pengji operation area along the Daqing River westward, connect with the lake area 

channel, and realize "reaching the river to the sea" all the way to the south, becoming a veritable "golden waterway".

Zhou Liangyu, the person in charge of the second bid section of the Daqing River Channel Project: "The main 

construction content includes channel dredging(including using dredging ships and silt curtains), bank revetment 

and protection of bridge ancillary facilities. Among them (the second bid section) the channel dredging is 1.33 

million square meters, and the bank protection project involves about 10 kilometers. There are about 28 bridge 

protection piles in total, which are mainly used for the protection of the piers of the Wangtai Bridge."
