The Nanjing Waterway Bureau organized the acceptance meeting for the completion of the emergency
dredging of the Baota waterway. At the meeting, the design, construction, supervision and on-site
management units respectively reported on the work during the emergency dredging of the Baota
waterway, and formed a maintenance and dredging completion acceptance certificate. So far, the
emergency maintenance and dredging work of Baota Waterway during the 2020-2021 dry season
has been successfully completed.
The navigable conditions of the Baota waterway are complicated, the construction conditions are poor,
and the mud throwing distance is long. The maritime administration department was also invited to
participate in the meeting. The maritime department affirmed the effect of the emergency maintenance
and dredging(by using silt curtains and dredging vessels), introduced in detail the round-island navigation
method at the exit section of the Tianhekou near the dumping route, emphasized the prohibition of
entry and exit of ships in the pagoda waterway at night, and also pointed out the shortcomings during
the construction period and required the construction unit to strengthen the requirements of ship
personnel on duty.
