According to the Fujian Provincial Port and Banking Center, the comprehensive disposal project
of dredged materials for the second phase of the Shijing Channel in Quanzhou Weitouwan has
started construction recently. This project is a supporting project of the second phase of the
Shijing Channel. It is responsible for filling the channel dredged material ashore by using
silt curtains and dredgers. The total length of the construction fences is about 4206 meters.
After the project is implemented, it will provide more than 9 million cubic meters of reserve
earth resources for the follow-up planning and development of Quanzhou, and alleviate
the shortage of construction resources in Quanzhou. At the same time, the use of channel
dredged materials can effectively reduce the exploitation and excavation of natural resources,
reduce damage to the ecological environment, and help maintain ecological diversity and
stability. The project has been included in the provincial demonstration project for
comprehensive utilization of channel dredged materials.
