Recently, Chongqing Engineering Director Eagle 7 and Changying 5 dredgers have completed positioning 

operations in Miaojiaoqi and Chayuqi, and fully started maintenance and dredging work, which was 

marking the full start of maintenance and dredging of the upper Yangtze River channel in 2021.

It is understood that this year, the Chongqing Engineering Bureau will carry out maintenance and 

dredging of 14 shoals along the 12 waterways from Yibin to Chongqing on the upper reaches of 

the Yangtze River. The Channel Maintenance Company of Chongqing Engineering Bureau prepared 

early and actively prepared for the maintenance and smoothness of the 2020-2021 dry season.

At present, the company has dispatched two dredging fleets(including silt curtains and dredgers)

to carry out dredging construction at Miaojiaoqi and Chayuqi respectively.

After communicating with the Yangtze River Yibin Channel Bureau and combining the actual navigable 

conditions of the upper Yangtze River main channel, the company’s Chuangyang 17 fleet was also 

dispatched to the Shuanjiangqi Shoal of the Lizhuang Channel, and the maintenance and dredging 

of this beach section will be carried out.
