On the afternoon of December 25, the 2020 Guangzhou petroleum pipeline oil spill accident desktop 

emergency drill was held at Sinopec Guangzhou Branch. 

The drill was simulated the entire emergency response process of an out-of-control vehicle crash 

and damage to the inter-plant pipeline located on the Guangyuan Expressway east of Guangzhou 

Petrochemical in Huangpu District, it was caused oil leakage, and subsequent vehicles short-circuiting and  fire caught.After the accident, the enterprise emergency plan, the district-level 

emergency plan, and the municipal emergency plan were successively launched and implemented. 

The exercise included subjects such as oil product interception control by using oil absorbent socks, 

oil product recycling by using oil absorbent pads, government-enterprise collaboration, and urban 

linkage,etc.
