In recent days, Shaoxing water traffic emergencies drill was performed in the waters of the 

central operation area of Shaoxing Port on the Hangyong Canal.

This drill was simulated a collision between the 200-ton cargo ship "Zheyue Chenghuo 1001" 

and the upward empty ship "Zheyue Chenghuo 2020". The cabin of the heavy ship was 

damaged and sank quickly, and the crew dived and abandoned the ship.

During the drill, the Shaoxing Transportation (Maritime) Department immediately activated the 

emergency plan after receiving the alarm and rushed to the scene for rescue. On the one hand, 

the staffs dealt with the leaked oil pollution by using oil booms and oil absorbent pads and 

carried out barge operations on the sunken ship; on the other side, the empty ship burst into 

flames, and multiple fire rescue ships "pinched" the fired ship from multiple sides, and the 

sprayed water mist quickly controlled the fire.Finally the drill was successfully completed.
