Shenwan jurisdiction water oil spill prevention accident drill was held in the waters of the Kaili Shipyard 

on the Shenwan Waterway.

A ship had a fuel leakage accident due to crew mis-operations. The accident formed an oil spill belt about 

200 meters long and 20 meters wide. The waters of the Xijiang River will face a large-scale pollution risk.

At a critical moment, the first shipyard anti-pollution joint defense body in the west coast of the Greater 

Bay Area-Zhongshan Shenwan Town Shipyard Joint Defense Body was unveiled,it was built an emergency

After more than 20 minutes of intense rescue, the leaked fuel was effectively handled by using oil booms 

and oil absorbent pads. There were more than 100 people from 13 units, including maritime affairs, public 

security, environmental protection, shipyards, and pollution cleaning companies, and 8 boats participated 

in the whole exercise.
