The western area of the Shangyu Port Logistics Wharf Operation Area carried out ship pollution
prevention emergency drill. The purpose of this drill is to better respond to ship pollution
emergencies, and to improve the response capacity and handling level of ship water pollution
incidents.
The emergency scenario simulated in the exercise is: At 13:28 , a ship in the western area of
the Cao'e River Operation Area had oil spills due to operational errors. The scope of water
pollution has gradually expanded. The area is polluted and the situation is extremely severe.
The port staffs immediately called the police when they discovered it.
At 13:30, after the District Traffic Law Enforcement Team 12395 received the alarm, they
promptly reported to the police, simultaneously notified the head of the Port and Shipping
Squadron, and the head of Shangyu Port Logistics Service Co., Ltd., and immediately
initiated the emergency response. The traffic law enforcement team captain Zheng
Jujiang served as the site commander in chief, the deputy captains Dai Heliang and
Shao Yong, the port and shipping management center deputy director Zhou Weigang,
the Shangyu Port Logistics Terminal Deputy General Manager Li Yanfeng, and the
director Pan Zhenyi served as the site deputy commanders. They quickly ordered to
set up a joint emergency team, released traffic control information, sent emergency
rescuers and law enforcement boats to ship contaminated waters, quickly set up
oil booms, deployed oil absorbent pads, and fully recovered oil spills.
With the efforts of various parties, after more than 20 minutes of intense rescue, the
port ship pollution was successfully handled, and the drill was successfully completed.
