On April 28th, the Lingshui Demarcation Islet Tourist Area was jointly with professional cleanup 

company to hold a joint emergency oil spill drill. It was simulated when the ship from scenic spot 

was docked at the fueling terminal for refueling, it was collided with the dock, and a diesel leakage 

accident was occurred. The scenic spot cooperated with specialized clean-up companies to timely

clean up and recover the oil spill.

During the exercise, the staff from the shipping department of the scenic spot worked closely with 

the technical personnel of Sanya Huali Cleaning Co., Ltd., they quickly removed oil spills from the 

sea by deploying oil booms, spraying oil dispersants, and laying out oil absorbent mats. This drill

was further strengthened the emergency personnel's understanding of the company's emergency 

procedures and their respective responsibilities, mastered the oil spill emergency knowledge and 

skilled use of oil spill emergency equipment, effectively tested the conditions of oil spill prevention 

and control equipment and found areas for improvement.

Lingshui County traffic, port and shipping, maritime affairs and other relevant departments dispatched 

personnel to observe and guide the exercise.

According to the situation of many ships and high utilization rates in the tourist area, the Demarcation 

Islet Tourist Area actively established a perennial cooperative relationship with professional cleanup 

companies, built up an emergency oil spill response mechanism, and purchased related emergency 

equipment to strengthen professional training of employees and related equipment. It was ensured 

that no marine equipment such as ships will be exposed to oil spills.
