In order to improve the theoretical level of emergency response and equipment operation proficiency 

of participants in response to ship oil spills and other emergencies, at 9 o'clock in the morning, a 

practical training on the connection of oil spill emergency equipment was held at the site of 

Zhaoqing Deqing Marine Department. The members of the oil emergency team explained the 

operating theory and practical skills of related emergency equipment such as oil booms and 

oil absorbent pads, and conducted in-depth exchanges with participants on the use of 

equipment and other issues.

At 2 pm, the drill was officially begun. An oil spill accident occurred when a ship sailing through  

500 meters upstream waters of the barge of Zhaoqing Deqing Marine Department. The crew 

of the accident ship immediately reported to the maritime department for help through VHF. 

After receiving the report, the Deqing Maritime Department of Zhaoqing quickly activated 

the emergency plan, dispatched emergency personnel to the scene of the accident for 

disposal, implemented traffic control at the scene of the accident, deployed oil booms, 

placed oil absorbent pads, and recovered spilled oil in an orderly manner. Through 

the coordination of various departments, the danger was finally resolved.
