In the sea area of Daya Bay in Huizhou, which is the largest distribution center for ships
carrying dangerous goods in South China, the 2020 Guangdong Huizhou maritime search
and rescue comprehensive emergency drill will be held. The drill is guided by the China
Maritime Search and Rescue Center, hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Maritime
Search and Rescue Center and the Huizhou Municipal People’s Government, and
undertaken by the Huizhou Maritime Emergency Search and Rescue Center and
the Huizhou Maritime Safety Administration. There will be 28 units participating
in the exercise, and it will dispatch 30 ships and 1 Shipborne helicopters and other
emergency search and rescue forces on land, sea and air. The drill is divided into
four subjects: life rescue at sea, fire and fire fighting at sea, emergency disposal
of oil spills by using oil booms and oil absorbent pads, and formation inspection
of exercises.
