The 2020 Tai'an City water traffic emergency drill will be held on July 28
in the Laohu operation area of Dongping Port District, Taian Port. The
drill includes three subjects: port flood control emergency drill, ship fire
emergency rescue drill, and ship oil spill emergency response drill. Nearly
a hundred of staffs from the Municipal Transportation Bureau and Dongping
Port District participated in the exercise. This exercise is of great significance
to accumulate waterway traffic safety management and emergency
construction work experience, and strengthen waterway traffic
emergency warning work.
The port flood prevention and typhoon emergency drill simulated the
strong typhoon rainfall in the Laohu operation area of Dongping port
area, which caused water accumulation in the lower section of the
belt conveyor corridor and flooded equipment. Relevant units
immediately activated the corresponding plan, arranged for rescue
teams to rush to the scene for emergency treatment, drained
and blocked water in the belt conveyor corridor, and strengthed
the ship loader and belted corridor against wind.
Ship fire emergency rescue drill was simulated when a cargo ship
was on its way to the port,it suddenly catched fire. After receiving
the rescue request, the rescue team quickly put out and rescued
the burning ship. The ship oil spill emergency drill was simulated
a fuel oil leak from a cargo ship, it was caused a large area of
pollution in the water surface. The rescue team immediately
set up oil booms and oil absorbent pads to promptly remove
oil on the water surface, controlled the spread of oil spills,
and implemented oil spill recovery to prevent water pollution.
