On July 8, the first waterway dredging project undertaken by China Civil Engineering
Corporation, the southern area dredging project of the first phase of the Mongla
Port Dredging Project, was accepted and officially handed over to the owner.
Under the correct leadership of China Railway Construction, China Civil Engineering
resolutely implemented the "overseas first" strategy and took practical actions
to respond to the crisis test and achieved a major project node breakthrough.
The smooth implementation of the project will effectively enhance the port's
safe shipping capabilities and escort local shipping prosperity and economic
development.
The first phase of the Mongla Port dredging project is the largest dredging
project in Bangladesh's second largest port Mongla Port so far, and it is also
the first project undertaken by China Civil Engineering in the field of channel
dredging. The project is located at the entrance to the sea 120 kilometers
downstream of the port of Mongla. The main work content is the dredging
of the 11 kilometers long north-south channel. It was used dredgers and
silt curtains for waterway dredging. At present, the southern area dredging
project has been completed and handed over, and the overall project
progress has been about 80% completed. It is expected that the handover
of the entire project will be completed before the end of the year.
