On the afternoon of June 5, the National Hazardous Chemicals Emergency Rescue
Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Team participated in a maritime oil spill emergency drill
at the Zhenshan Wharf of Zhenhai Refinery and Chemical Plant in Ningbo.
The drill was simulated the damage of pipeline valve flange gasket during the
unloading of No. 6 berth platform at Suanshan Wharf, and the gasoline leaked
into the sea. The berth operator found the leakage and immediately notified
the ship to stop the unloading operations, closed the emergency shut-off
valves on the berth platform, and reported to the production dispatcher.
After the production dispatch received the leak report, they immediately
started the "Emergency Plan for Sea (Water) Oil Spills from the Port
Storage and Transportation Department" and "Emergency Plan for Sea
(Water) Oil Spills in Zhenhai Refinery and Chemical Industry".
The professional decontamination team immediately carried out
decontamination operations at sea, installed oil booms to control
the area of oil spills, and used oil skimmers and hand-held spraying
devices to clean the sea surface. The traffic control group
established a warning area to evacuate irrelevant personnel and
implement road traffic control. The environmental protection
monitoring team sampled and monitored the surrounding
seawater and air quality, and reported to the on-site
commander at any time.
