Recently, the Huai'an Municipal Government held an emergency emergency drill for dangerous
chemicals ship transportation in the waters of the Nangang Wharf of the Huai'an City of the
Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Deputy Mayor Tang Daolun, Director of the Municipal Emergency
Management Office Hua Yun, Deputy Detachment Leader Wang Jianwen and responsible
comrades of the Municipal Environmental Protection, Safety Supervision, Aviation Administration
and other departments observed the drill on the spot.
The background of the drill was that a ship full of dangerous chemicals collided with an empty
ship. The dangerous chemicals ship caught fire and leaked. After received the alarm, the
municipal government's emergency office, maritime affairs, public security, fire control and
other departments started the emergency plan at the first time, mobilized rescue forces
to the scene, and successfully completed various exercises such as fire extinguishing,
saving people, and oil booms deploying for oil spill containment and pollution prevention.
