Recently, the Fuzhou Municipal Maritime Bureau of Fujian Province held the 2020 inland water
traffic flood control drill in the Huai'an waters of the Minjiang River, and lived broadcast through
mobile phones on local TV stations.
A total of 4 maritime patrol boats, 1 professional rescue boat, 2 rubber boats, 2 assault boats,
1 speed boat, and 1 drone were dispatched in the drill, and nearly 100 people participated in
the drill. According to the characteristics of the inland waters of Fuzhou City, the drill organized
first-line maritime, traffic law enforcement personnel and official boat crews to conduct operation,
maintenance and training of official boats, assault boats, rubber boats, as well as emergency
response to search and rescue of fallen personnel, ship oil spills cleaning by deploying oil booms
and oil absorbent pads, and ship drifts for incident handling.
This exercise effectively tested the implementation of the flood prevention and flood preparation
work and the scientific, practical, and operability of the inland river water transportation
emergency plan, further improved the emergency disposal abilities and coordinated handling,
improved the safety of water transportation and supervision and emergency system.
