On March 8th, at the Shuangqing River comprehensive treatment site in Zhengyang County, the workers 

are busy, the machines are shuttled.

Shuangqing River is located in the south of Zhengyang County and in the west of Provincial Highway S224. 

The area of the basin is small. The estuary is 30-50m wide and the river depth is 4-6m. The cross section

is large because it has not been treated for many years. At present, the river channel has serious siltation 

and garbage accumulation,There are many black and stinky waters, the weeds are too many, the bank slopes 

are different, the bridges and culverts across the river are simple, the water is severely blocked, and the 

environment along the river is poor.

The Shuangqing River treatment project will excavate a dredged river of 7.4km according to the design 

criteria of a once-in-a-five year project. The cross section of the river channel adopts a double trapezoidal 

section. The river slope protection is located in the urban area of the planning area. It will use silt curtains 

and dredgers.The river length is 1300m and the dry paved 100mm thick precast concrete interlocking grass-planting bricks. A 2.4m wide hydrophilic walkway is built on the left bank of the river, and colored water-permeable concrete pavement is used. A 3.5m wide bicycle road with a length of 6.1km will be built on 

the right bank of the river, using colored asphalt pavement, and a 30m wide green belt will be planted 

on the west bank. The construction of 4 concrete overflow dams and the demolition and reconstruction 

of 6 bridges have a total investment of RMB 33,305,300.
