From January 10th to February 14th, the Yangtze River Waterway Bureau organized more than 

30 engineering vessels and carried out a total of 1,199 dredging of 14 shallow dangerous 

waterways, they maintained a dredging volume of more than 1.48 million cubic meters, and 

unblocked the "lifeline" of water transportation.

During the dry season of each year, some shallow and dangerous waterways of the Yangtze 

River trunk channel will be shallow due to force majeure factors such as water level and 

sediment, which will affect the passage capacity of the channel. This year, the Yangtze 

River Waterway Bureau deployed large dredging vessels(the vessel has the silt curtains) 

including "Changying", "Xipan", "Changshi", "Hangjun" and "Changjing" on 14 shallow 

dangerous waterways on the main channel of the Yangtze River over 2,600 kilometers. 

The maximum dredging capacity is about 10,000 m3 / h.
