Ji'an Municipal Transportation Bureau carried out a water emergency rescue and ship pollution
prevention drill on the theme of “protecting navigable waters environment and jointly building
safe water transportation” on the Yalu River of the Taiping River.
A total of 4 subjects including rescue and evacuation, fire extinguishing, oil spill disposal by
deploying oil booms and oil absorbent pads, and water quality monitoring were set up in
the drill, and it was simulated six types of dangers: ship collision, personnel falling, ship
damage, ship fire, ship out of control, and ship pollution. The drill was undertaken by
Ji'an Local Maritime Office. A total of 10 units, 9 ships, and more than 50 people participated
in the drill. The drill was tested the pertinence and operability of Ji’an Emergency Plan
for Water Traffic Emergencies, strengthened the coordination, linkage and cooperation
of water search and rescue member units, and trained the water emergency response
abilities of the city's water search and rescue team., improved rapid and effective
assistance abilities in the transportation sector, accumulated water rescue experience,
and played a demonstration role in carrying out water rescue in the future.
