Recently, the land-sea joint emergency drill for bulk chemicals spill
in the Dagukou Port Area of Tianjin was successfully held in the
forefront waters of the Fubao 7th wharf in the Tianjin Port Free
Trade Zone.
It was simulated that the terminal personnel found the chemicals
leakage, and called the help-seeking telephone number to the
Linggang Maritime Search and Rescue Sub-center. The Lingang
Maritime Search and Rescue Sub-center immediately launched the
emergency response plan after receiving the report, then the
search and rescue operations were launched rapidly. The maintenance
of sea navigation order, the evacuation of dock personnel, the on-site
fire extinguishing of fire-fighting tugs, the rescue of rescue boats,
and the transfer of wounded and the treatment of pipelines and
the plugging of pipelines were carried out in an orderly manner. Finally,
with recycle of the land and sea pollutants by using chemical absorbent pads
and oil skimmers, the drill was come to the end.
In this drill, the relevant departments responded quickly and had high
disposal capacity, which achieved the expected effect of the exercise.
It not only accumulated valuable experience for the emergency response
of the Dagukou Port Area, but also trained the emergency team and
tested the emergency plan. It played an important role in protecting
the sea environment and building a "beautiful Tianjin".
