The comprehensive water emergency drill in the Badong section of the Three Gorges
reservoir area of the Yangtze River was held in the waters of Badong Port on the
afternoon of November 6. The drill was included emergency evacuation of landslides,
ship collision and out of control, ship oil spill emergency disposal by deploying oil booms
and oil absorbent pads, ship fire and fire emergency, personnel water rescue and
rescue these 5 subjects, a total of 25 ships and more than 200 personnel were
dispatched. The Yangtze River Badong Port is located in the Three Gorges Reservoir
Area, it is one of the 20 important ports in Hubei Province and the only water
gateway to the Tongjiang Dahai of the Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.
The drill was jointly organized by the Badong County Government and the Yichang
Maritime Bureau. 17 units including transportation, emergency management,
ecological environmental protection, fire protection, maritime affairs, navigation,
and public security participated.
