Around the completion of the safety and environmental protection work after the navigation
of the Tai'an section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, on October 16, the Port and Shipping
Center of the Tai'an Municipal Transportation Bureau organized to held water traffic emergency
disposal drill in the Dongping Lake section waters. Yang Fumin, member of the party group and
deputy director of the Tai'an Municipal Transportation Bureau, observed the instructions on the
spot. The head of the department of the Transportation Bureau of Tai'an City, the members
of the leadership team of the Port and Navigation Center and the heads of relevant departments
participated in the drill.
The drill was divided into two subjects: ship oil spill pollution disposal and navigation mark damage
repair emergency disposal. After the navigation, the ship collided with the navigation mark during
sailing in the navigation channel, causing the buoy to be damaged and displaced. At the same
time, the ship was physically drilled due to the local damage caused by the collision, resulting in
fuel leakage, it was included the warning alarm, traffic control, oil removal and damaged navigation
mark repair, linkage response, information release and other processes.
There were used 6 ships of various types, 100 meters of oil booms, 200 square meters of
oil absorbent pads and about 60 drillers participated in this drill. The successful holding of this
emergency drill is an effective test of the practicality and operability of the water traffic
emergency plan after navigation; it will accumulate the actual experience of water pollution
emergency disposal and navigation mark maintenance, and it has laid a solid foundation for
the safety supervision and pollution prevention after the navigation of the Tai'an section
of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.
