Recently, Maoming Maritime Bureau and Maoming Petrochemical Company held 2019 

maritime oil spill comprehensive emergency drill.

In the waters near Bohe Xingang District, with the ringing of the alarm bell, the 

director of the 0952 ship commander, Chen Luxun, announced that the 2019 

Maoming City maritime oil spill comprehensive emergency rescue drill officially began! 

This drill was simulated when the oil was unloaded, the floating hose head was 

broken and leaked crude oil, causing environmental pollution. The drill was included 

the contents of marine oil spill control and removal.

At 10:01 am, the single-point operator found that the floating hose 541 tube head 

was overflown crude oil, he immediately reported the mooring length, mooring long 

to the port branch dispatch report, and reported to the Bohe Maritime Department, 

then Bohe Maritime Department reported to Maoming Maritime Bureau Command 

Center, after the Maoming Maritime Bureau received the report, they quickly launched 

the Maoming Port Prevention and Control Plan for Ship Pollution, and the Maoming 

Petrochemical Port Division handled the emergency disposal according to the plan.

The crew of the offshore operations team responded quickly and carried out 

emergency operations in accordance with their respective emergency duties. 

Three personnel in the single-point on-site emergency response team of the 

port branch arrived at the single-point pontoon by Huijiao No.2 boat, entered 

the site of the plugging leak, and raced against the float to close the valves to 

confirm the oil leakage.

During the unloading process of cutting, the professional survey drone

coordinated by the Maoming Maritime Bureau Command Center also took off 

urgently, always starred at the single-point oil spill area, and timely feedback

the situation on the spot. At the same time, the monitoring ship dispatched 

by the chief was evaluated and monitored the oil spill, and reported the 

collected oil spill location, estimated area, oil spill predicted drift path to the 

command center, and Shenghua No. 2 ship arrived at the designated location 

according to the instructions. The oil skimmer was deployed to collect the 

oil from the surface of the sea. In order to prevent the expansion of the 

oil spill area, the command center also dispatched the Petrochemical No. 7 

ship to deployed oil booms under the assistance of Huijiao No. 2 ship.

After more than one hour of joint rescue, the oil spill on the sea surface 

was effectively controlled and recovered in time. The comprehensive 

maritime emergency drill was successfully completed.
