Jiading District Transportation Committee, Safety Supervision, Fire Fighting, Maritime 

and other departments jointly held 2019 inland water emergency drill. The drill was 

simulated the disposal process after the collision of two ships in the inland river channel.

During the drill, the Jiading Local Maritime Department received an alarm at 2 pm. 

On the west side of the Huyi Highway Bridge, a two-ship collision was occurred, 

one of it was escaped. After received the alarm, the maritime department 

immediately launched a special emergency response plan for the emergency 

according to the accident level, and mobilized the sea patrol boats to intercept 

the escape boat. In the face of the crew who refused to cooperate with 

the law enforcement, the water security police station immediately dispatched 

personnel and successfully controlled them.

At this time, the damaged ship appeared the danger of water entering of 

the hull and the fire of the engine room. The marine fire and land fire 

department quickly rushed to the scene, and used a screen gun and a

high-pressure water gun to extinguish the ship and rescue the crew of

the jetty escape. The water rescue ships also arrived quickly, and the 

cargo on board was transferred, and the control and cleaning of the 

spilled oil was quickly carried out by deploying oil booms and oil absorbent pads. 

The drill was lasted 40 minutes and the rescue work was completed. The 

drill was achieved a complete success.
