In order to ensure the safety of water transportation during the holidays, the Suzhou Local Maritime Bureau
and the Suzhou Yangcheng Lake Ecological Leisure Tourism Resort Management Committee jointly hosted
the water search and rescue and pollution prevention emergency treatment drill.
This drill was simulated a series of dangerous situations, a passenger ship carrying 50 passengers suddenly
caught fire in the engine room during the sailing, and the ship was out of control; the passenger ship
collided with another empty passenger ship and a fishing boat, and some people fell into the water;
during the evacuation process, two people dive to escape and one person was injured; the ship was
damaged, the fuel was leaked, and the water body was polluted by spilled oil. It would use oil booms
and oil absorbent pads for controlling and cleaning the spilled oil.
Faced with one danger after another, multi-departments jointly operated, during the one-hour drill,
a total of 6 sea patrol boats and maritime search and rescue boats, 1 fishery boat, 1 public security
boat, 2 blue sky rescue boats, 5 social boats were dispatched and more than 60 participants. They
have completed drills in various subjects such as fire fighting, personnel rescue, traffic control, and
ship pollution prevention.
