In order to further improve the emergency response capabilities of water emergencies and
ensure the safety of water transportation in the county, on August 6, the County Maritime
Department and the relevant departments carried out a waterway traffic emergency drill in
the waters of Tianbao Ferry in Shulou Town.
The drill was divided into two courses: waterway emergency protection and water fire
protection. The simulation scenario of the drill was: When a carrier ferry sailed through the
Tianbao Ferry of Shulou Town, a sudden fire broke out on the ship.
After discovering the dangerous situation, the owner of the ship immediately sent a distress
signal to the county maritime command and rescue center. The county maritime command
and rescue center immediately dispatched nearby vessels to approach the fire-fighting vessel,
and rescued the downers in the first place. At the same time, the maritime patrol boat was
also approaching the fire vessel, and the high-pressure water cannon was used to start the
fire fighting operation.
After this emergency rescue, the fire was extinguished, but the ship lost control due to power
system damage. The command center also deployed another passenger ship to go to the
out-of-control vessel. The crew of the two sides acted in concert to drag the uncontrolled
vessel away from the accident waters by means of cables.
As the vessel was successfully docked, the participants immediately scoured the oil in the exercise
waters. It was deployed oil booms and used oil absorbent pads. At this point, the drill ended smoothly.
The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Transportation Bureau made a summary review of the drill.
Through this simulated actual combat drill, the scientific nature of the emergency plan and procedures
was tested, the emergency team on the water emergency was honed, and the emergency response
capability of the local maritime system in our county was examined.
