Recently, Badong Town of Santai County has increased its investment, organized personnel and machinery 

to carry out dredging and treatment of the main rivers in the area under its jurisdiction,it is purposed to 

prepare for flood control and drought relief work, and ensure smooth river channels.

Sujiahe River and Yejiahe River are the main rivers of Badong Town. The siltation of rivers has increasingly 

affected the normal function of drainage, irrigation and water supply. In order to restore the normal 

function of the river, Badong Town has dredged the rivers within its jurisdiction half a month ago. The 

clean-up is mainly aimed at the centralized transportation of domestic garbage, weeds, silt and other

floating objects in the river. It will firstly used silt curtains for controlling silt, garbage and so on, and 

then clean up it.

Through dredging work, it will not only deepened and widened the river, the river water become clear, 

and the phenomenon of “dirty, chaotic, and poor” along the river has been greatly improved, and the 

production conditions and living environment of the masses have been significantly improved. At the 

same time, Badong Town requires villagers to do daily cleaning and maintenance work, consciously

maintain the river water environment, do not arbitrarily dump, and prevent littering into the river and 

along the coast, and strive to achieve "no weeds and no floating objects on the river surface." There 

is no obstacle in the river, no garbage on the river bank, and then create a clean, smooth and 

beautiful living environment.
