Yesterday, the provincial and municipal key projects, the Nantong Port Lvsi 100,000-ton
class inbound waterway project (second phase) officially passed the quality appraisal and
delivery acceptance, and has a one-way navigation condition for the 100,000-ton bulk
carrier. This project not only improved the navigation capacity of the Lvsi Port area, but
also created better conditions for the construction of the new sea passage in the Tongzhou
Bay.
The waterway was expanded on the basis of 50,000 tons and upgraded to a 100,000-ton
navigation level. The total length of the waterway is 53.4 kilometers, of which the dredging
section is about 28.7 kilometers long, the designed navigation width is 210 meters, the
trench width is 200 meters, the designed water depth is 16.9 meters, and the design base
height is -13.1 meters, of which the sedimentation depth is 0.5 meters.
The project was started in August 2017, was completed in July 2018, and ended in January
2019. In order to implement the concept of green environmental protection, the city's
coastal waterway dredging project hire environmental supervision for the first time in order
to implement environmental tracking supervision during the construction period. At the same
time, the Nantong Marine Environmental Monitoring Center was commissioned to inspect the
dredged materials before construction, and to carry out tracking and monitoring of the
marine environment in the dumping area during the construction process. In order to avoid
the marine environment pollution by the construction, the unit entrusted with marine
environmental protection and pollution removal qualifications is responsible for removing
oil spills and domestic garbage from the construction sea area. It was used a large amount
of silt curtains, oil absorbent pads and oil booms for controlling and cleaning the oil spills
and domestic garbage.
