Recently, the port and shipping system carried out a live 300,000 tons of crude
oil leakage drill in the Xigang District of Yantai Port. The drill was hosted by the
administration of port and shipping and was organized by Shandong United
Energy Pipeline Transportation Co., Ltd., it was aimed to a comprehensive drill
for the emergency situation of oil spills at the terminal.
The drill was simulated when the 300,000-ton crude oil tanker carried out unloading
operation in the terminal; it was suddenly encountered strong gusts. The lateral
displacement of the ship caused the oil delivery arm to detach temporarily. The
valve was not locked and closed in time, and the crude oil in the oil delivery arm
and the crude oil in the ship's pipeline were leaked. The pipeline company immediately
launched a special emergency plan for oil spills to carry out on-site disposal. The disposal
process was included four stages: accident report and on-site disposal, establishment of
on-site command headquarters for organizing emergency rescue, marine oil spill disposal
by using oil booms and oil absorbent pads, and restoration of production. In this exercise,
a total of 2 fire engines, 7 ships, 1 drone, and 49 participants were participated in this drill.
Through this exercise, Shandong United Energy Pipeline Transportation Co., Ltd. improved

emergency response capability for emergencies, and improved the overall emergency
management level of the company. At the same time, it has further improved the emergency
rescue linkage mechanism between the pipeline company and its neighboring enterprises,
