In order to test the emergency response capability of Chongzuo ship pollution accidents,
further improve the organization, coordination, command and emergency response
capabilities of Chongzuo City in water emergencies, and give full play to the duties of
Chongzuo City Water Search and Rescue Center. Recently, Chongzuo Maritime Department
organized relevant departments of Chongzuo City to carry out ship pollution accidents
emergency drill in the waters near the Qishan Tourism Pier in Jiangzhou District,
Chongzuo City.
The drill was simulated when a sand ship was carrying out sand-scraping operations
in the waters near Qishan Wharf, it was occurred oil spill accident due to operation
errors, resulting in about 1 ton fuel leakage, and coordinated emergency actions
around this incident. After received the police, the Maritime Department quickly
implemented law enforcement personnel to carry anti-pollution equipment to the
accident waters, and carried out on-site traffic order maintenance in accordance
with traffic control requirements. At the same time, they coordinated the nearby
emergency forces (ships) to participate in on-site rescue, controlled the oil spill
range by laying out the oil booms, and they threw the oil absorbent pads to recover
the oil. With the joint coordination of all parties, the ship's pollution "accident" was
effectively controlled and the drill was achieved a complete success.
Through this emergency drill, it was improved quick response, emergency response
and coordinated operations comprehensive abilities of Chongzuo City, effectively
accumulated practical experience in dealing with emergencies, and laid a solid
foundation for maintaining the environment of Chongzuo waters.
