In order to further improve the emergency response capacity of sudden 

environmental pollution incidents in drinking water sources and ensure 

the safety of residents' water use, the environmental protection and 

water affairs departments of Yuping Autonomous County have jointly 

carried out sudden environmental pollution accidents emergency drill in 

drinking water sources.

This drill was simulated a used motor oil from Sand washing field 

occurred oil leakage, and then polluted the water intake point of 

water plant. 

The county environmental protection bureau immediately launched 

an emergency plan after discovering the source of pollution, and 

organized an emergency team to rush to the scene to arrange 

emergency tasks. By taking measures such as cutting off the 

pollution source and preventing the spread of pollution by using

oil absorbent pads and oil absorbent boom, then the pollution belt 

is effectively cleaned and has left the water intake point. After 

water monitoring, the water quality of the water intake point has

reached the national drinking water standard. The drill has achieved 

the success.
