On December 14, 2018, Heyuan City ship pollution emergency drill 

was held at Wanlvhu Lake, Xin'an Pier. This is the first special drill 

for Heilongjiang City to launch unexpected incidents ship pollution.

The drill was hosted by Heyuan City Water Search and Rescue 

Center, and it was undertaken by Heyuan Maritime Bureau, Heyuan 

Municipal Transportation Bureau and Dongyuan County Government. 

The drill was included emergency command, drone monitoring, 

oil spill control, and elimination of oil spills these subjects. Ten boats

from three units of Maritime, Transportation and Wanlv Lake Tourism

Boat Company participated in the exercise. The drill was simulated 

the tourist ship "Wanlv 311" was collided with the reef due to the

cold wave and the wind, it, and the ship's own oil was leaked. After 

received the report, Heyuan City Water Search and Rescue Center

quickly launched an emergency plan to control the removal of oil 

on the surface by deploying oil booms and throwing oil absorbent pads. 

After 30 minutes of emergency disposal, the surface pollution was 

effectively cleared, the danger was lifted, and the drill was 

successfully completed.

The drill was examined the practicability and operability of the

emergency response plan for ship pollution accidents in Heyuan City, 

improved the safety awareness and emergency response capability 

of emergency agencies and personnel, and provided valuable 

experience for water emergency response.
