The Yangpu Maritime Search and Rescue Sub-center recently organized sub-units
to carry out a maritime fire rescue and oil spill comprehensive emergency drill.
The drill was simulated a heavy-duty oil tanker was collided with the passing
cargo ship at the No. 9 anchorage, causing the oil tank to be damaged and
about 2 tons of fuel leaked into the sea and a fire broke out. The four crew
members on board were missing and the danger was severed. After verified
the dangerous situation, Yangpu Maritime Search and Rescue Sub-center
immediately launched an emergency plan for, guided the accident ship to
carry out self-rescue, coordinated sea patrol vessels, fireboats, and clearing
forces in the jurisdiction to carry out emergency response. At the same
time, the Danzhou fixed-wing aircraft was coordinated to rescue the
drowning personnel in the accident waters. Under the close cooperation
of various departments, the fire and oil spills were effectively controlled by
fire branch and oil absorbent pads, and the drowning personnel were
successfully rescued and landed.
It is understood that this maritime emergency comprehensive drill was a
scriptless exercise to simulate various real scenes that may occur in a ship
accident.
