On the morning of November 27, the Lengshuitan District 2018 Water Traffic Safety
Emergency Rescue Joint Drill was held at Sanduoting Wharf.
At 10:30, the drill was begun. In the waters of Sanduoting Wharf, a passenger ship
carrying 10 people simulated a collision with an oncoming sand carrier on the way.
The passenger ship cabin was burst fire and the main engine was stalled. The ship
was lost control, some passengers abandoned the ship and escaped, and life safety
was seriously threatened; engine oil and diesel oil was leaked in the cabin of the
passenger ship, and a large amount of oil contaminated the river waters. After
received the report, the local maritime bureau organized a rescue team to rush to
the scene of the accident to organize rescue. They rescued the drowning personnel,
treated the wounded; extinguished the fire; transferred the trapped person, dragged
away the uncontrolled ship; cleaned up oil in the river surface by deploying oil booms
and oil absorbent pads. Under the unified command of the command department, the
participating units were in good order. After more than one hour of full rescue, the
dangers were successfully lifted.
