On November 18, Tianjin Port Group Corporation held 2018 maritime oil spill emergency drill
was held Yier Company No.1 berth sea area.
This drill was based on the discovery of oil spills in the waters near the Yier Company’s No. 1
berth. It demonstrated the procedures for information reporting and on-site disposal during
the oil spill emergency. Under the leadership of the Xingang Maritime Bureaun, the Sanitation
Center served as the emergency director of the marine oil spill of the group company, they
organized Yier Company, the wheeled company, the Bohai Sea Shipping Service Co., Ltd.
and other units participated in the drill, they also dispatched 5 ships and more than 30
participants. More than 20 units including the Group's business department, company
branch, container companies and coal terminal companies observed the exercise on site.
The exercise aims to strengthen the emergency sudden oil spill management abilities at
ports, verify the organization command capability of oil spill responders and the on-site
processing capacity of employees, and further enhance coordination with maritime
management departments in oil spill emergency response, and comprehensively improve
oil spill response performance and minimize the marine pollution caused by oil spills.
After the happening of the oil spill accident, the responsible unit of the incident immediately
notified the Group Environmental Sanitation Center and the Xingang Maritime Bureau; they
quickly launched an emergency plan, blocked the scene, and dispatched an oil spill emergency
ship and an aerial vehicle to the oil spill area for detection, according to the professional
procedures, they deployed oil booms and placed oil skimmer, sprayed biological oil dispersant, and
finally treated a small amount of fuel residue, so that the oil is removed in time.
