On the morning of November 13, the Yueqing Port and Shipping Administration and
Wenzhou New Century China Oil Products Sales Co., Ltd. launched a fire safety drill
in Wenzhou New Century Oil Depot, with more than 30 participants.
The emergency scene of oil spill prevention and pollution prevention was carried out
at the drill site. Due to the high pressure of the oil tanker's oil pump, the oil seal of
the oil tank was damaged, and a large amount of diesel oil leaked to the terminal
operation platform. The terminal duty officer immediately reported the situation to
the port air traffic emergency command. After received the accident report, the
department immediately launched an emergency response plan and notified the
ship to stop the pump, close the dock, cut off the valve, and sound the alarm.
At the first time, the staffs from the port and shipping team went to the site to
cooperate with the oil depot staffs to absorb the oil with the oil absorbent pads.
At the same time, the oil dispersant was sprayed to dilute the oil on the ground.
In less than 10 minutes, the diesel oil on the ground was completely cleaned,
and no oil was caused to the surrounding environment and waters near the pier.
After the completion of the drill, they were also carried out the dock tanker fire
drill and the fire extinguisher extinguishing drill. The team members listened to
the command and coordinated operations and successfully completed the fire drill.
Through the exercise, it not only enhances the sense of responsibility of the
enterprise's fire safety mains, but also enhances the safety supervision level of
the port and the emergency response capability of emergencies.
