Through the preparatory work for the reclamation drainage to lower the water level 

in the early stage, the Maanshan municipal government recently launched the Yushan 

River channel dredging project in full, aiming to ensure the smooth flow of the rivers 

in the flood season and improve the water environment of the Yushan River.

The reporter went to the dredging site of the front of the Yushan River pumping 

station to see that the four suction pumps were driving full force, and took the 

mud from the Yushanhe pumping station to the inlet section of the pumping station.

After the mud is sediment and dried in the sludge sedimentation tank, the mud is

cleaned and transported by the joint operation of the excavator and the transport 

vehicle. According to the on-site construction manager,Yu Nengbao introduced 

that this place will be cleaned up 10,000 cubic meters of silt. At present, dredging

work is progressing in accordance with the order of the project nodes. It was also

deployed silt curtains.

It is understood that the Yushan River is connected to the Yushan Lake and 

Yushan River Pumping Station. It is east-west oriented and has a total length 

of about 5,300 meters. It is an important flood channel for flood control in

urban areas. The dredging river channel is to select the low water level period

of the dry season and to open the river channel with the lowest engineering

cost. While they are fully promoting the river dredging project, the municipal 

office also repaired the damaged river retaining wall of the Yushan River from

the west side of the Tianmenshan Avenue elevated to the Hengxing Bridge. 

The total length of the river is about 3,300 meters. There are 6 different 

degrees of damage, and the length of the damage is about 90 meters. 

In addition, the sporadic parts of the construction section will be restored 

or newly built.

At present, the construction unit is deploying sufficient machinery and 

manpower, reasonably organizing, working overtime, and continuous

operation to ensure that all workloads are completed by the end of 

October, and playing a solid foundation for winning the urban drainage 

station in the next year.
