On October 5, the main body of the waterway dredging emergency project from the 

Yuanling Country Panguxiang Yangxiji Town to the Dongjiaping Ferry was completed, 

and the local villagers applauded.

In recent years, due to the serious sand mining phenomenon in the river channel, there

are obstacles to the airborne sands in the ferry route of the Yuanshui Yuanling section, 

which has made the passenger vessels unable to pass normally. In particular, many 

vessels in Dongjiaping and many villages were forced to suspend operations, seriously 

affecting the normal travel of more than 1,300 local villagers. In April of this year, the 

Yuanling Waterway Department of Hunan Changde Waterway Administration was 

taken waterway dredging emergency project into the key poverty alleviation project 

of water transportation, with a total investment of 735,000 Yuan, and it will dredge

200-meter ferry waterway to solve the problem of people's travel difficulties by using

silt curtains and dredger. Combined with the comprehensive ban project on mining 

in Wuqiangxi National Wetland Park, the project was started on September 21 and

completed the main project on October 5.
