In order to improve the emergency response level of the oil spillage of the docks,

cleaning companies and berthing vessels of Houshi Power Plant, and enhance the 

multi-party cooperation capability, on October 17, the Zhangzhou Longhai Maritime 

Department organized the docks and cleaning units of the jurisdiction to carry out

the oil spill emergency drill.

The drill was simulated the "***" ship was appeared an oil spill accident in the 

berthing pier. About 300 cubic meters of oil spilled over the surface of the sea, 

causing pollution in the sea near the pier. The terminal company quickly launched 

the emergency plan. The drill was simulated the closure of the oil-related vessels 

and self-rescue; the terminal used the oil skimmer and oil absorbent pads for 

emergency disposal; the cleaning company carried out the lay-out operations 

of the oil booms, oil collection and oil dispersant spraying. The drill used three

ships and involved more than 40 people. Through the exercise, the emergency 

response capability of each participating unit was effectively exercised, and the 

performance status of the oil spill equipment of the dock company and the

professional cleaning unit was reexamined, and the actual combat experience 

was further accumulated, which laid a solid foundation for the oil spill 

emergency response work in the area.
