In order to effectively test and improve the ability and level of maritime emergency
assistance, on October 9, Yangzhou Maritime Bureau carried out the maritime boat
emergency drill activities in conjunction with the requirements of the Jiangsu Maritime
Safety Administration's “Equipment Management Month” activity.
First, according to the key projects of water safety supervision in the jurisdiction,
they should carry out targeted activities such as sea patrol boats and their equipment
emergency plan drills and assessments. In view of the intensive characteristics of water
passengers in the ferry boats in the jurisdiction, the organization carried out drills such
as emergency evacuation, life-saving and personnel rescue, and used the actual drills
to detect the mastery of the maritime emergency personnel on the equipment, and
recorded it the problems existing in the drills in detail.
The second is to further strengthen the daily inspection of the loading and unloading
operations of hazardous chemicals terminals, and urge enterprises to actively carry out
leakage and oil spill emergency drills by using oil booms and oil absorbent pads in accordance
with the anti-pollution emergency plan, and improve the response speed of the emergency
team and the proficiency of equipment operation.
The third is to strengthen the post-evaluation of emergency drills, and find and correct
the weak links and deficiencies in the emergency response through drills and further
improve the speed of emergency response. After the end of drill, the head of the Maritime
Department should further requested law enforcement officers to be skilled in using law
enforcement recorders, VHf and other law enforcement equipment. The crew of the boat
must memorize the life-saving fire alarm and the use of equipment in the sea patrol boat.
The equipment should be reported and repaired in time to ensure that all equipment in
the emergency work can be effective.
In the next step, the Yangzhou Bureau will continue to strictly follow the requirements
of the “Equipment Management Month” of the Jiangsu Maritime Bureau, strengthen the
technical guidance for its own equipment and sea patrol boats, and urge the crew to
actively carry out the daily maintenance of the sea patrol boat to ensure the good
airworthiness of the ship and the equipment.
