After more than a month of intense construction, Nantong Jiaogang Ship Lock Waterway Dredging Project
was completed and passed the completion of acceptance.
Jiaogang Ship Lock is the main road for “Waterway Expressway” Lianshen Line to in and out of the Yangtze
River Estuary. The ship's navigation waterway is lower than the design standard due to the shallow base
width. The local level is only up to the five-level navigation standard. It was normally landed and parked,
which seriously affecting the efficiency of ship locks and restricting economic development along the line.
So it was used silt curtains for controlling slit and then used dredger for dredging the silt.
The total investment of the emergency dredging project is 1.87 million yuan. It is constructed according
to the third-class navigation waterway standard. The design bottom width of the waterway is not less than
45 meters, and the minimum navigable water depth is 3.2 meters. Among them, the upstream of the ship
lock will dredge 969 meters, the downstream will dredge 732 meters, and it will also dredge more than
100,000 cubic meters earthworks.
