Recently, The Yanshao Line Waterway Xinghua section dredging project successfully 

passed the acceptance check. The Yanshao Line Waterway starts at the junction of 

Yancheng Xinyang Port and Tongyu River. It ends at Yangzhou Yanshao Ship Lock, 

which spans Yancheng, Taizhou and Yangzhou. The total mileage is about 132 kilometers.

It is the important part of Jiangsu trunk line network, among them, the Xinghua section

is 42 kilometers (excluding the escrow Gaoyou Tangzhuang section), which runs through 

important economic nodes such as the Xinghua Economic Development Zone.

Since the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan”, Taizhou City has gradually completed the rectification 

of the Xinghua section of the Yanshao Line through a special engineering model for maintenance 

and reconstruction, using a planning and design plan to promote the implementation of the

project. It was used silt curtains to control the waterway silt and then used dredger to dredge

the silt. A total of about 50 kilometers of new revetment was completed, and more than 2 million 

cubic meters of dredged earthwork were completed, with a total investment of 181 million Yuan.

At present, the technical status of the Xinghua section of the Yanshao Line Waterway has basically

reached the third-class navigation standard. The minimum navigable water depth is 3.2 meters, and

the bottom of the waterway is 45 meters wide. It can sail thousands-ton ships.
