Yesterday, the local maritime department carried out a joint anti-pollution drill at Yanglintang QiLin Wharf.
A ship that had just entered Yanglin Port was collied with the "Huhuineng 2" ship that was carrying out oil
unloading operations. As a result, the hose connecting the ship's shore unloading oil was spilled. Due to the
collision, the oil pipeline was loose, and the oil quickly flowed into the river. Although the oil booms have
been arranged in various dangerous goods terminals, QiLin Wharf is no exception, but it has been unable to
stop the spread of oil spills, and the oil quickly exceeded the range of the previous layout. The oil unloading
operator immediately shut down the oil valve and shouted.
After understanding the situation, the captain immediately called the local maritime department for help. The
maritime department immediately disptached Sea patrol boats to the scene, after they arrived at the scene,
they immediately used oil absorbent mats, laid out emergency oil booms to prevent further spread of oil.
After rescue, it finally prevented the continued expansion of the oil area and effectively prevented other
secondary disasters.
"Oil spills do not often happen, but when the accident really comes, we don't have time to think about it.
Therefore, we must strengthen the drills in daily life. We can't relax." The person in charge of Yanglin
Maritime said. Although this was only a drill, but the exerciser treated it as a real accident, and it timely
improved the emergency response capability.
