On the morning of July 5, Quanzhou held an inland river water transportation
and water source protection emergency rescue drill in the waters of Jinji Barrage
Gate in Jinjiang. This was the first provincial and municipal inter-department river
water traffic emergency drill in Quanzhou, which was organized by the Fujian
Provincial Local Maritime Bureau and Quanzhou City, transportation, water
conservancy, local maritime affairs, Jinji River Gate Management Office and
other departments.
The drill was included in-stream water emergency rescue, ship fire fighting,
and ship oil spill clean-up. The drill was simulated a passenger ship
encountered extreme weather during the voyage in the waters of the
Jinji Barrage Gate in Jinjiang, it collided with reef, then out of control.
Two passengers accidentally fell into the water, and the ship's main equipment
was damaged, fuel oil was leaked, and it happened the fire danger.
After received the alarm, the Quanzhou River Water Traffic Emergency
Command immediately dispatched a drone to the waters of the incident to
conduct a search. With the help of drones for searching and transmitting
images in real time, the command department dispatched command ships
and assault boats to transfer passengers and drowning personnel, and dispatched
fire rescue boats for fire fighting and waters perimeter warning. Passengers was
safely landed, and after the ship fire was removed, in order to prevent the leakage
of oil pollution to the water source of Quanzhou city, the oil booms was used to
control the oil spilled area, and the oil absorbent mats was spread to clean up the
oil spill, it was effectively prevented water pollution.
