In order to ensure the safety and clean production of offshore oilfields and timely respond
to emergencie, the Marine Emergency Response Center has recently conducted numerous
oil spill emergency drills in the coastal areas to test and enhance emergency response and
handling capabilities of emergency teams.
The drill was carried out in strict accordance with the emergency response procedures. It
took only 15 minutes from the reception of police, the assembly of personnel, and the loading
of emergency supplies. At the drill site, the on-site command issued an emergency task. The drill
was carried out emergency operations according to the division of responsibilities of the team.
The oil spill control team deployed grille-type oil booms and other types to carry out
multi-passage control of oil spills. The oil spill recovery team started up oil skimmers and
small vacuum skimmers to recover oil spills from the water surface and spilled oil into portable
storage tanks.
The entire drill was started from actual combat. Based on the site survey and desktop deduction,
several key nodes were improved, and the emergency response time was shortened, the process
was compact and unfolded. The Marine Emergency Response Center will continue to strengthen
its on-the-job training, conduct drills on the ground, continuously improve the actual combat
capability of the emergency team, and spare no effort to ensure the safe and clean production
of oil fields.
