Hulunbuir Maritime Safety Administration cooperated with Hulun Lake Water Public Security Bureau,
Hulun Lake Nature Reserve Administration, and Hulun Lake Fishery Co., Ltd. to hold a comprehensive
2021 Hulun Lake water search and rescue drill in the Xiaohekou waters of Hulun Lake.
At 10 o'clock in the morning, the drill was officially started. The drill was simulated a fire on the
main engine of a water cruise ship. The crew's fire fighting was ineffective. The ship lost power
and was out of control. It collided with the oncoming cruise ship, causing passengers on the
cruise ship to fall into the water and cause an oil spill accident. After the simulated accident
occurred, the crew immediately organized and carried out self-rescue and quickly reported to
the Manzhouli Maritime Department of Hulunbuir Maritime Safety Administration. After receiving
the alarm, the water search and rescue command center of Hulunbuir Maritime Safety Administration
immediately activated the water search and rescue emergency plan, and coordinated the Hulun
Lake Water Public Security Bureau, the Hulun Lake Nature Reserve Administration, and Hulun Lake
Fishery Co., Ltd. to rush to the scene for rescue. According to the purpose of the drill and the
scenario of the simulated incident, four subjects were carried out: rescue of overboarding people,
rescue of ships in distress, firefighting, and oil spill handling by using oil booms and oil absorbent pads.
In accordance with the principles of unified command, resource sharing, and unity and cooperation,
all units quickly and efficiently carried out water search and rescue, and made every effort to eliminate
and reduce the risk of accidents and losses.
